Fenn Cape Point Challenge 2013

The exhilarating duel between Jasper Mocke and Hank McGregor continued today with the FENN Cape Point Challenge, with extreme sea conditions forcing a change of route to the False Bay side.

Mocke drew first blood with a scintillating victory over McGregor during the CAPE TOWN DOWNWIND on Monday, but this time around McGregor proved too strong and beat the Capetonian to the finish line by over a minute. From the side, conditions looked harrowing at times, but the official media release will elaborate in more detail on this.

I can however confirm that Sean Rice put down the hammer to claim a well-deserved third spot in the Singles, while Nikki Mocke took the Women’s race in this category. Her 54th position once again underscores her exceptional current form; a race onto the beach saw Bianca Beavitt pip Michele Eray to claim2nd and 3rd positions, with Chloë Bunnett hitting the break just behind them.

In the doubles, Steve Farrell and Shaun Rubenstein (1st) and Kenlea Murray and Wayne Wilson (2nd) beat Dawid Mocke and Lewis Pugh to the line in a hard-fought race.
