What can I say. Fun, friends, sun, adventure ... n wonder Hobbit gets a bit teary every now and then. SA Adventure Racers, Team Merrell, on a training camp near Sandbaai. This is the wave that nearly wiped out the 5D MkII, and then proceeded to slice neat parallel scars into my back as it dragged me across the mussel beds on the rocks. I'm sure I stretched my arm 4ft high to keep the camera out the water, and somehow Neptune or Poseidon or whoever relented. There, at 11 'o clock! A giant caiperhina floating in the sky!

Description: Team Merrell will be a force to be reckoned with when they hit the AR circuit in 2011. Not only because they have soul (of the Vibram kind), but because the old sparkle is back in their eyes. I did a quick shoot with Tweet, Hobbit, Tiny and Smelly at the Merrell training camp on THU/FRI, and in the process got way-laid by a combo of good caiperhinas and the Buffalo Rule. I like, big time!
