Finally in #Hogsback at the beautiful Arminel Hotel Hogsbackafter a few days of family back-road tripping into the Baviaans River Valley. This extensive farmer-driven conservancy is situated between #Bedford and #Tarkastad in the Eastern Cape.

This is also our old family farm, so cue trail running, mountain biking, hiking, fireside kakpraat and some major catch-up time with the rest of the Marais Clan – excellent to see all my siblings and nephews – as well as my folks – joining in from all over SA.

The rugged #FrontierCountry region proved to be an excellent testing ground for both the Chevrolet #TrailBlazer and the latest #PENTAX #K3ii camera. All the images below were shot on this system and the #Asahi lenses, and I cannot wait to test their new full-frame body.

Now to enjoy the Hobbity forest of the Amathole Mountains with the Vellemans 🙂
