The second – and biggest and most beautiful – day at GKCM2013 unfolded under perfect Northern Cape skies today. The front bunch of Andy Birkett, Jasper Mocke and Ivan Kruger blasted off just after dawn, going head to head onto the portage at Neus Weir. The duke fest continued on the stretch through the dramatic gorge, with Mocke just pipping Birkett on the final sprint. Michele Eray hung onto the front of the field to consolidate her lead over 2nd lady Nikki Mocke on this 2nd leg to The Mast near the town of Kakamas. All in all, another perfect day on the Orange River 🙂
