The smile may still be lopsided, but it is big and happy. The good news is that my front teeth are back in place and that the stitches (especially those buggers inside my mouth) are finally about to be removed 🙏
Even better, I’ve banked my first recovery #surf of the year, and it’s time to fully focus on all the kickass #2020 missions as we kickstart a super-exciting January! First up is a remote #canyoning mission with @tablemountainfund within the rugged kloofs of #gvbconservancy, where we will go in search of rare aquatic species. Always exciting to spend time with Aileen Anderson and the good folks of the #grootvadersbosch Conservancy 🌿🌳🐾
Next up is one of my fave boutique #mtb experiences as the #oZone crew saddles up to cover the TransCape MTB Encounter Stage Tour. This #mountainbike ‘Journey across the Cape’ traverses the Garden Route, Karoo, Overberg and Winelands, ending in fabulous Franschhoek after seven glorious days of wild and diverse cranking. Can’t wait to shoot the breeze with Lenore Collett and her team 🚲
Also so stoked to continue our booming #oZoneAfrica colab with Zane Schmahl, plus to get stuck into a lekker #theafricanadventurer #media project with Matthew Kearns. Not too mention our fourth #BeyondExpeditions adventure, the #BeyondBicornis journey in aid of #rhinoconservation with Children in the Wilderness. More about all of this soon 👌😊
All in all, I feel blessed to have the calendar for the rest of #2020 pretty chockablock, too, but as always, the key will be to keep the balance right when it comes to work, family and play. So far, so good, with #outdoor mountain and ocean missions galore. We’ve scrambled through #Boomslang Caves, caught freezing #Scarborough waves, trekked and ran the #DeepSouth Trails, gone vertical at @cityrock_cpt and even saddled up the @giantlivrsa bikes for a couple of rides.
Big up to @isuzusa, @sonyalphasa, @sonyxperiaza, @FrontRunnerZA, @spotafrica, @giantbicycles, @sealandgear, @hitec_sa, @outdoorwarehouseza, @DarlingBrew, @beantherecoffee, @dripdropsa and the other brands who supported me and Peter Van Kets in #2019 – here’s to loads of media synergy as we roll into our next orbit around the sun ☀
