Maun to Makgadikgadi

Back in signal after four off-grid days, mountain biking from Maun to the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans. The sandy little test loop in the Thamo Telele Reserve set us up for a 220km-plus jaunt along a network of incredible elephant trails crisscrossing the Botswana bush, with some lekker pan cranking to boot.

We followed the Tamalakani River to its junction with the Matete, and then dog-legged through pristine savanna and Mopani woodland. Superb new adventure offering from Natural Selection, with true nature connection overnight while wild camping in the authentic Elephant Trails Mobile Camps.

This #adventure cycle route follows in the tracks of explorers such as #Livingstone, the Greene Bothers, tracing wildlife and cattle footpaths. Consistently evolving ecosystems, fireside camaraderie and exhilarating animal encounters are just a few of the things riders can expect on this beaut ride – iconic #africa at its best 🦒

These images capture a smidgen of the jaw-dropping grandeur, adrenaline and joy we experienced on Days 2 & 3. Currently relaxing in the magnificent #SanCamp on the edge of what once was Africa’s biggest lake a million years ago. Days 3 & 4 to follow 🌞🫒🦒
