Our ##Maun2Makgadikgadi #MTB Ride ended a week ago on these iconic salt pans in beautiful #Botswana, but the memories will last for life. (And that’s not just a throwaway cliche). Every moment of that #mountainbiking journey stands out – from the dawn giraffes at Thamo Telele and riding ancient #elephanttrails through savanna bush, to the wide #mindspace horizons and starry night skies shimmering above what was Africa’s largest lake system a million years ago.
This cycle route follows in the footsteps of some of the continent’s legendary explorers, including #Livingstone, the Greene Brothers and Chapman, oozing history, adventure and natural grandeur. Presented and expertly guided by Natural Selection, and with superb mobile camps along the way, this is a premium cycle ride of unequalled character. Immersive nature, full-moon #wildcamping, big game encounters, cold beers, fireside banter … this is #africa at its very best
FULL DISCLOSURE: The attached photo is actually a double-exposure. I shot the vehicle silhouette on a 14mm wide-angle, then popped a stopped-down photo of the full moon on my 500mm telephoto before overlaying them. Getting an actual photo of the moon that big in relation to your subject is just about impossible, whatever the #instagram generation tells you.
