Molweni Trail Run 2014- Prologue Day

A lot of guys and girls came out today, thinking they were going to smash the 6km-plus Prologue Course, but that’s not the ways things work in Krantzkloof Nature Reserve. The route and terrain were testing to say the least, with times well over an hour being clocked by ‘mere mortals’.

But then there are of course the demi-gods of trail – guys like Lucky Miya and Thabang Elias Madiba – who float like the proverbial butterflies to take the sting out of the tail of the race. Thabang blasted home in a time of just over 31min with Lucky around 90secs slower, and Matt Kretzmann coming in third at around 35min.

In the women’s field, Sue Susan Erskine Don-Wauchope took it easy enough, but still secured an easy first position. Tomorrow, however, is a completely different ball game, with 30km of extreme trail waiting, and with the Prologue probably having very little effect on the outcome.

Tune in from 06h30 to follow the Social Media Posts on our FaceBook Page at Molweni Trail Run. Good luck to all the runners – we will see you on the trail!
