The annual George Mountain Ultra Trail has firmly muscled itself into the mindset of every trail runner in South Africa (and arguably around the globe, as well). There is never a day in those #Outeniqua Peaks that isn’t special, but this past weekend surely set the gold standard.
For me and The Robster, it was a real #PeakyBlinder of a day, starting off at just after 3AM and with an honest 18hrs spent on the #trails. The runners may well have been the heroes, but the moments I will never forget were always framed within the drama and glory of these ancient Cape Fold ranges. Sometimes, they are best viewed in stark black-and-white.
