The crew of the Dunlop Tyres Beyond The Desert Edge Expedition has arrived safely at Serra Cafema after a solid 3x days of traveling from Cape Town. This remarkable Wilderness Safaris Camp is situated upon the edge of the Cunene River, and overlooks the Angolan border a mere 50m away.
This will be the starting point for Peter Van Kets as we start our world-first mountain biking journey across this inhospitable transect of the Namib Desert, pedalling along a gruelling 1300km route all the way to Walvis Bay.
Huge Thanks to Dunlop Tyres SA, My SPAR, Isuzu South Africa, Wilderness Safaris, Hi-Tec South Africa, Holdfast, Giant Bicycles South Africa, SPOT Africa, DripDrop, Bean There Coffee Company and all our other sponsors and supporters for their incredible support on this journey.
PS: The shot of the giraffe and the setting sun was a PhotoShop Edit done on my Sony Mobile ZA XZ Premium, using a double-exposure of the setting sun and the distant giraffe on the horizon; the silly beast did not want to wait for an extra half an hour for the sun to get lower.
