The checkpoint at #Bergplaas is legendary when it comes to getting good shots of the Trans Baviaans 24HR MTB Race #REPEAT riders competing in this gruelling 24hr MTB Marathon. I was lucky with the late afternoon sun slanting in over the #Baviaanskloof mountains and back-dropped by stormy winter clouds; this made for breathtakingly beautiful light as the field heroically pedalled into CP4 after ascending the insane #MAC (or Mother of All Climbs)! Competitors come in their thousands from all around South Africa and the globe to face off against this epic 230km route, often descibed as the ‘toughest single-stage mountain bike ride in Africa’
