The ocean’s ‘Last Great Wilderness’ encompasses a breathtaking playground very close to my heart. And every time I venture into that Big Blue, I get to explore the magic world within the undersea forests, which – according to Darwin – “supports a richness of biodiversity that could rival that of Earth’s tropical rainforests”.
This rings true for my False Bay backyard, but even more so for regions such as Namaqua West Coast, where remote communities find their shores under threat from rogue mining and poaching. This article highlights the global importance of #kelpforests, and how you can help conserve them by doing the right thing, and by supporting organisations such as Protect the West Coast.
