The first installment of the MERRELL Wacky Wine Trail Run – presented by Mountain Runner Events at the gorgeous Arrabella Wine Estate – took place near Robertson this past weekend. Blustery weather and muddy trails did not dampen the spirits of trail warriors from around the Cape who entered the 7/16km options, and they experienced more than enough superb views and fresh air to make them come back again next year. Second shoot with my new SONY kit, so I was worried about dodgy light and wet conditions; in the end, I was utterly blown away by the full-frame quality and high-speed focusing. Biggest adaptation was around tracking the action while shooting with an OLED viewfinder, but that is part of the learning curve. The results, I think, speak for themselves …
