A quick weekend mission into those imposing Drakenstein peaks booming skywards on the opposite side of #FalseBay. The #stellenbosch region always delivers on #outdoor adventure, especially when you have friends who can share a few of their personal, unmapped #trail treasures.

Not that you could call the #OldBethlehemFarm #MTB singletrack in the Banhoek Conservancy a secret, but you still need to know where to access the trail if you want to beat the sunrise into the valley… Stunning ride with Malcolm and Karyn Marais on this masterpiece of a build by Wynand A Basson, with #Simonsberg rising from the mist to create an epic backdrop.

We did a short encore with Grace a little later, and then headed up #franschhoek pass to go in search of a few secret pools. A short riverine hike and scramble served up scenic waterfalls, lilies, tadpoles, icy swims (and a Boschendal picnic as a well-deserved reward). Great to test the Giant Bicycles South Africa,
