Ja Nee, sorry to keep going on about #Trek2Teebus and those warm-hearted country folk from the #Steynsburg farming community. Maar soos hulle sê, lekker bly darem maar lekker!
One of the highlights – other than the Trek 2 Teebus- 3day MTB Karoo Adventure – Presented by SEESA Route, the wide-sky landscapes and heaped plates of boerekos – was meeting Francois Stadlerand hearing about how he refurbished #Slakkie, his 1980 Isuzu South Africa 1900 Diesel bakkie. Now, Slakkie belonged to the drive-in owner in Graaff-Reinet, and Francois managed to snap her up for a paltry R4000 from a deceased estate early last year.
Around R36k and one times #lockdown project (including months of #TLC) later, and this little beaut of an #ISUZU Beasty is chugging along the #OosKaap gravel roads, raising smiles and the occasional veldhoed salute. My #isuzuMUX was pretty chuffed to meet #Slakkie, and I was even more chuffed that I got to drive her.
