| NEVER. STOP. EXPLORING. |

This is the Mittivakkat Glacier in East Greenland, and that little dot is one of the dogsleds I was travelling on 20-odd years ago. I had joined a party of Inuit hunters on an expedition – shooting for #DestinationEastGreenland thanks to Anders Stenbakken – and for two weeks we camped wild on the frozen sea ice, tracking polar bear and musk oxen. I’ve always dreamed I would go back to the Arctic one day, and now that ‘day’ has arrived …

Yup, on September 26th, I fly via Reykjavik to Constable Pynt in #ittoqqortoormiit to explore the world’s largest fjord system. We will be sailing on a three-masted, wooden Oceanwide Expeditions schooner, circa the 1940s, with daily treks to experience the unique geology and wildlife that make Greenland such an exhilarating destination.

After 10 days of iceberg dodging and scampering across glaciers, we cross the channel to Iceland to make landfall at Akureyri, for another week of ocean voyaging along this island’s dramatic northern coastline. Volcanoes, geysers, glaciers, narwhales and epic landscapes await …

Best of all, Robs – who has been surf coaching in Cornwall for the past 6 months – gets to join me on this father/son adventure of a lifetime. And once we disembark in Seydisfjordur, we get to mission for #Arctic waves along Iceland’s east- and south coast. Water temp is predicted to be around 6 Degrees Celcius, so pretty fresh!

Huge thanks to Malcolm Loos and The North Face South Africa who have come on board as an apparell sponsor. Unreal to have an iconic global brand like this as a partner when you’re heading into solid, sub-zero terrain.

I’ll also be testing new kit from Insta360za, Pentax-Ricoh South Africa, SanDisk and Sony – Alpha SA. Different shooting conditions – necessitating lightweight, freeze-proof and waterproof cameras and equipment – will make for otherworldly imagery and footage. And if #starlink works as well as people say it does, you’ll see the whole adventure unfolding right here!
