There will be many an iconic moment at the Otter African Trail Run this year, but for most runners, the defining obstacle en route from the Storms River start line will be the Bloukrans river crossing.
This in essence is what sets the Grail of Trail apart from any other trail run in the world. A slip on the rocks or rogue tidal surge can end your race, and the icy water means cramps will more than likely lie in wait to snap at your quads.
It is a key photography spot, and the perfect place to set up my Pentaxians Pentax K1 or TomTom Sports Bandit. Good luck, guys, and huge respect to one and all for taking on the Otter Trail Run – see you at Bloukrans.
