If ever a runner ran a perfect race, today was it. Iain Don-Wauchope went out with no expectations resting on his shoulders and absolutely obliterated the course and, for most part, his competition, with a new record time of 4hrs 23min. Andre Joubert Calitz dug deep to grab a 2nd place on his 1st OTTER Run and led for much of the middle section of the route, but on the day wasn’t strong enough to hang on to the Don-Wauchope, one of KZN’s top duathletes. Greg Goodall breezed in in 3rd, whiles the ladies slugged it out along the 42km route. Legendary US trail runner Krissy Moehl prevailed, with Jacqueline Haasbroek in 2nd and Landie Visser Greyling in 3rd. It was humbling to watch some of the trail running world’s top athletes do battle, on another beautiful day here at the southern tip of Mother Africa.
