What an exhilarating playground this part of the Breede Valley Local Municipality proved to be … The town boasts two stunning nature reserves in close proximity, Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve and @Bushmanskloof Nature Reserve. Mountain biking, hiking, trail running and other adventure options abound if you can’t get there for the #Run2Nowhere Events, or you could just revert to leisure mode
The sleepy main street hosts a scattering of great restaurants, coffee shops and wineries, and McGregor is still one of those villages where you’re immediately on the receiving end of a friendly greeting or handshake (if you’re not allergic to this, post-COVID19. Excellent to visit the Bemind Wine Garagista Cellar of Ilse Schutte, meet up with ex-racing snake Jan Schutte, and shoot the breeze with that legendary #RealSteeler , Max Waxhead Menzies. Sorry to hear about your Mcgregor Young Warriors & Angels – Mountain Biking Academy – losing their chance to do the #CapeEpic, Amigo … I could see the fire burning in their eyes.
Huge thanks also to Ian Summers for top accommodation at #SummerHouse, and to everyone else for being so welcoming and just plain lekker. As usual, there was liberal application of quality Baleia Wines & Olive Oil, and of course, some damn good coffee!
